In 2006, attending NOCO in Denver, Colorado, I crossed a portal. I discovered industrial hemp and what I found on the other side changed everything. Not just my career. My life.

Before that moment, I had spent 25 years designing and building oil and gas installations, refineries, offshore rigs, and pipelines across 14 countries. Multi-billion dollar projects. A powerful corporate career. Everything the world tells you to want. I walked away from all of it.
In 2008 I founded Hemp Engineering to assist companies with feasibility studies and to lead projects in the hemp space. I learned from farmers, scientists, and people who worked with this plant long before the world was ready to listen. I helped real people — including my own mother. I followed this plant wherever it led me.
I spent decades helping build the oil and gas industry. I helped feed the problem. This plant, for me, is redemption. This Academy is my humble gift to the world.
